Michael Anastassiades Lighting

Nigel Coates

We just love nowness.com! This ethereal double exposure documentary created by filmmaker John Maybury was created during Salone del Mobile in Milan last month. It showcases the British designer Nigel Coates’s Casa Reale exhibition of new furniture and lighting designs. “I wanted to make a royal place out of a decrepit apartment—to give the peasant house a sense of royalty,” says Coate. “Those kinds of contradictions are what drive me. We can take whatever place we live in, and create a bit of grandeur and playfulness in our lives.”

We are completely inspired by this collaboration and made to believe – again – how one’s choices about the objects they surround themselves with form who they are and how they live. The music and setting transports the viewer. Enjoy!
