Artecase presents a unique event in Paris exploring Collectible Design in two parts : We will visit established 20th century collectible design galleries at the Biennale in the morning and explore the contemporary design market in the afternoon.

ITINERARY

10:45am – Artecase Introduction and History of the Biennale at the Grand Palais

 11am – Private Tour of the 27th Biennale des Antiquaires in the Grand Palais

 This year’s edition of the Paris Biennale, under the creative direction of the highly acclaimed interior designer and architect Jacques Garcia,  boasts an array of prestigious international galleries exhibiting fine and decorative art, antiques, jewellery and collectible design. Led by renowned Art Deco specialist and member of the Syndicat National des Antiquaires Rozen Le Nagard, guests will be introduced to several of the available 20th century and contemporary dealers and discuss the objects on view.

Walk down the Champs Elysées and through the Jardin des Tuileries

In honor of the 125th anniversary of Lanvin together with the day’s theme of  collectible design, Susan and Elizabeth will present the apartments of Jeanne Lanvin in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs as an example of personal style expressed through contemporary design. We will discuss several factors that contribute to an object obtaining value beyond it’s function and materials

1.15pm – Lunch and Collectible Design Market Discussion
 
A light lunch with wine and coffee will be served at the museums’ chic restaurant Le Saut du Loup. 
Artecase will discuss the performance of the various sectors of the design market and what makes a piece ‘collectible’.

Walk through the Cour de Louvre and across the Pont des Arts (20mins)

2.45 – Visit to Kreo Gallery in Saint Germain des Pres.

Self described as ‘a design laboratory’ with an emphasis on research and production of their designers’ work, Kreo is the first contemporary design gallery in Paris, collaborating with Bouroullac brothers, Marc Newson, Martin Szekely and Konstantin Grcic among others to present limited edition works. We will visit the current exhibition.

3.15pm- A visit to Galerie Maria Wettergren in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

 Gallery owner, Maria Wettergren, world-renowned specialist, and recipient of the prestigious Finn Juhl Architecture Prize for 2014, will discuss the contemporary Scandinavian design scene and the innovative artists she exhibits. Works from her gallery have been acquired as part of the permanent collections in MOMA, New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Walk through Saint-Germain-des-Prés (15 mins)

4.15pm – Private atelier-gallery in SaintGermaindesPrés
 
Known for her eclectic bohemian style, the Parisian antiques dealer and decorator will share with us her current offerings of unique 20th century collectible design. Florence AnchorLopez’s most recent projects include the Paris apartment of Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yvan Attal and private apartments in New York City and Saint Tropez.

5pm Private transport to Lanvin flagship store on rue Faubourg Saint Honoré

5.15pm – Lanvin VIP reception at flagship store on Rue Faubourg Saint Honoré
 
Lanvin, the oldest couture house in Paris is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. During this visit to the spectacular flagship store, clients will view Jeanne Lanvin’s original private office followed by an exclusive champagne reception in the VIP area and a private viewing of the current Lanvin couture collection.
