Maarten De Ceulaer’s ‘Tansformations’ at Design Miami 2012

Elizabeth Chase Rochette looking at Maarten De Ceulaer’s Fendi sponsored project, entitled ‘Tansformations’, last night at the Design Miami vernissage! It was exhilarating to be under this tent filled with the best contemporary design and masterpieces of the 20th century. We were drawn to this installation that supports the concept of sharing the process of a designers work with the audience. It is an exploration of the boundaries between hard and soft, natural and man-made, organic and geometric and the luxurious and mundane. De Ceulaer will be adding to the work throughout the week.

Produced by Wava Carpenter, who is a curatorial consultant for Design Miami and has overseen this project since its inception in 2009, the Design Performance program, is a platform to showcase young designers and to underscore the importance of the creative process that goes into studio-based design work.
